Leaving on the jet plane

I love to travel but not the flying part. Especially when the plane takes off and the sudden drop in mid air. Scary.... My last flight on Silkair to Xiamen was really frightening... The plane suddenly dropped a few meters in mid air when the crews were serving refreshments. I burst into tears and prayed hard for my life to heaven. PLEASE LET IT BE A SMOOTH FLIGHT ! Crossing my fingers....... Its not funny to fly alone.

I fly alone most of the time and yet I have no idea how I got through each time. The take offs, the turbulence, and the landing part.

I wonder what shall I pack into my luggage. I am glad to be able to visit my friend. It's gonna be a super long flight. I hope I will not be squeezed in between two strangers who snored their way on the 18 hour long flight again. This time I shall not ask for window seat. Forget the clouds.

I am gonna travel light this time and will survive the entire trip with just 2 jackets, not 7. I know its gonna be chilly. But I guess my body fats should be enough to keep me warm. LOL

Shoes... I'll wear my track shoes and bring long a pair of boots and maybe a pair of heels. 2 pairs of jeans, a few nice tops and 2 dresses should be enough. I hope so. I don't know when I'll be back but 3 weeks is max for me.

My dear Mr Lenovo (laptop) will be travelling with me. It's stupid to travel without a laptop in my case. Oh yes, bringing along 2 books to read will be nice too.

NAH ! No shopping this time! Okay... Maybe some cosmetics from duty free shops BUT that's about it!!

Crazy Beginings

Have you started your spring cleaning for Chinese New Year yet? How's 2010 been treating you so far? Me? Oh yes, you came here to my blog to hear me. Yeah, so I should update you about me now. LOL But yes, let me know you are well too. :)

Tomorrow I shall start painting the house. My room is still in a mess as usual. Okay, I'll do something about it. I SHALL TRY HARDER! LOL

For the whole week, dramas dramas dramas. But the dark cloud has started to clear. Thank heaven for that! Positive energy attracts positive outcome! :) Good news is, I'll be doing a promo for my sitcom Police and Thief Season 6 next week. I don't know the details yet but I feel really excited. Gosh, imagine we finished the shoot last year Feb. Broadcast date delayed over and over again. Well, now we are all set to go on 23rd Feb 2010. YAY!

The bad part is I don't think I'll get to watch..... Mom would want to watch her CH8 drama. Not that she wouldn't support me but its hard to keep up with the story when you need to skip an episode. Yes, my mom would rush home from anywhere just to watch TV. LOL Now you can kind of understand why I am an actress. Yeah I'm an attention seeker! LOL Nah.... Kidding! Mom will always watch me on TV no matter what. She'll pretend she's not interested but she'll start calling her friends and relatives whenever I'm on. She'll whisper on the phone to get them watch me. That's what makes everything I went through during shoot worthwhile. Those sleepless nights, over nights, those mad rush in the morning at 5am and the need to remember 10 over scenes of lines per night.

Oh yes, I've got back to my workout and I'm feeling great! 3 hours of workout per week is not that hard after all. Slowly I shall increase it to 5hours. I've decided to do so because I missed wearing my body hugging dresses and singlets. Okay besides that, health reasons mainly. I even cut down on my caffeine intake since I'm taking a break from work. But not for very long as I need to get back to my project next week.

Hope you are well. Yes I'm shaken, down and out because I still haven't got my New Year clothes yet. LOL Looking at the bright side, I can save money. :)

Welcome to the new decade!

Happy New Year! Sorry I'm a little slow to send my well wishes here. LOL

Nothing new is happening but the same old thing like trying to lose some pounds of fats and how my mood been affected by the weather etc etc... That's life. :)

Xmas party and new year eve party was fun. The home cooked food thingy seems to be in this season. The new year eve's party was peaceful and heart warming. Yeah We had pot luck. Prince and I made some appetizer. After dinner we play a game of monopoly and then FACEBOOK convention. LOL The host had requested us to bring our laptops so we had 4 laptops.... You may think this is crazy but it was actually quite fun. LOL. Nah I didn't bring my lappy as I had Xmas lunch at Ritz Carlton that ended at 330pm and the mad rush to make the appetizer at Prince's, then rush our way to our host's by 7pm...

Magic happened during my count down to the new decade. A light breeze blew pass me, I felt a sense of relief at the same time, as though a ton of burden was lifted away together and gone with the wind the moment this new decade begun..... Yeah My dramatic magic moment... LOL
Life just gets better!! :)

Bananas Diet Talk

I'm now on a experimental one week fruit detox (tested by a friend and supported by some "unknown" well known doctors but its experimental for me at least).

Today's menu is BANANA for lunch from NTUC FAIRPRICE and PAPAYA for dinner from THE WET MARKET! No I'm not killing myself. Just needed to clear all rubbish out of my stomach. Anyway by day 3 I get to eat fish. Hummm... I think so... LOL

Back on shoot tomorrow, rehearsal the day after for my performance on 20th Nov. Then after that rehearsals for my new singing gig that's happening on 2nd Dec, follow by spring cleaning, another few shoot, lazing around, FB-ing, then endless X mas & new year parties and gatherings.

I hope I can do something special for my dearest friends this year. Really need to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin over the years.

For my family, coming Chinese New year, I may bring mom and papa to pull the handle of their favorite jackpot machines. The mini Divas will get nice school bags and as for my bro and sis- in law, I expect 2 angbaos from them... HEE HEE

Gosh .... How can I forget the coming Club 21 sale?? (Please let there be one..)

I gotta get back to my half eaten bananas. NOW....

Hello! Thank you for dropping by.

I've been really busy lately as lots of real life dramas have been on going. I always thought chaos is good because it gives me a chance to re-organize my life and a big possibility of bringing it to a higher level. There's always room for improvement. One will never move up when one keep walking on the flat ground as it may take you far but not high.

Nah I'm never bothered about minor setbacks because I think they are the distractions and may cause depressive illusions to whats bigger and better ahead for me. Dramas are good. A test to one's ability to problem solving. So instead of sitting aside to cry or standing on the spot to whine while doing nothing about it I'm gonna get focus of what needs to be done in order to get what I want.

So how many days more to my very mini concert? Let me count the days..... LOL
See? There's always still fun stuffs around. I'm not gonna overlook the goods thats already in my life.

My date with Tioman Island

Someone told me I must share my experiences in Tioman Island. So here it is!

The CHIJ Divas are back in town

We were just learning to sing "My Bonnie" & "Forward CHIJ" when we met. We brushed our teeth together after recess. We played "zero point" and barbie dolls. We feared the bees from the huge old tree. We danced and sang Madonna's. We teased each other when the boys from the next school wrote us letters. We ran 3.5km in the jungle of Bukit Timah. We plucked flowers for the nectar after school while we wait for the bus............



Our looks may have changed but our friendship remains the same. Till we meet again in DEC with the rest. Glad to see you girls again. Thank you for all the good memories and many more to come!HUGZ

zzzzzzZZzzzZZ I'm writting only to Kill time.

Gosh.... I'm so sleepy now but I can't sleep. In just one more hour, I have to leave the house and make my way to the isle for holiday...

Only a few things that I almost can't seem to leave behind. First my mousehunt, am I gonna run out of cheese? Yeah 450 Swiss cheese should be more than enough for 3 days. Second thing is, maybe I should bring my laptop along... Last but not least, I have to find ways to kill time for now.... Yeah, one of good way is to type rubbish random thoughts on my blog. LOL I don't even know what I'm typing anymore.

Oh one more thing I gotta kill the next 15 mins so that I can click on the horn of mousehunt again... yeah lame I know... lol

Found another classmate on FB today again. heehee Anyway, I've decided to visit 3 friends that I have neglected after I get back. One appointment has been fixed for next week. Not forgetting gotta meet up with duckie and wolfy too. oh, there's shoot also... And my appointment with the doctor and dentist... Also I promised my nieces an outing. Gosh! Mommy wants to eat out too... Hummm.... At least I'm glad to know I've only 40 mins more to kill here.

Guess I better go double check my bag.... Where is my sunblock?

Double Happiness!

I had organized a gathering with my primary school classmates on 19th July and we are gonna have curry at Apolo Banana Leaf! Wanted to do a buffet party at one of the hotels but I guess it would be a little too formal to break the ice because after all its been so many years since we all sat at the same table.

I've found most of the classmates/schoolmates I remember of from same batch. This is so exciting!! Met up with Audrey Tan again a few days ago and she surprised me with Aileen Neoh who joined us later but I had to rush off to a wedding dinner. ARRGH.. Aileen must have thought I was crazy as I gave her bear hugs twice. LOL

By the way, I'm working on the details of my VERY MINI CONCERT in coming late Sept. Venue has been confirmed. But we haven't set the actual date as we are now into our pre-production stage. The exciting part about my mini concert this year is that we had managed to get a really cool musician to join our team. I'm really looking forward to it!!

Usual

Just finished watching a Hong Kong TV drama and was totally blown away by (林保怡) Bowie Lam Bo Yee. I must say he has superb screen presence and acting skill. I've got a 5 stars respect for this actor for he is really great at using his inner power on his craft. Charming work.

I've been having a great time hanging out with friends. The usual. The weather been driving me crazy. I can never function well when surrounded with still air. There has been quite a bit of dramatic happenings among friends but I know everyone will be fine.

It's time to stop pondering over what should be done but time to do what I wanna do.

My date with spring ........

Nope I didn't go to Kuala Lumpur after all. I had let go my chance to be in my dream musical. There's no explanation. I guess its not meant for me yet.

Finally acting school is over. Met a few interesting characters from all walks of life. I didn't really put in much effort to make friends. Maybe I do sound a little "proud". Not that I'm not interested to make new friends but my main objective there is to learn and re-learn my craft. After all an actor is a lonely profession.

However, there were a few interesting people who reminded me when I first started acting many years ago. They have so much life and passion for the craft. Not that I've had lost mine but by being near them, their passion energize me whenever I almost fall asleep in class because I was so tired from shoot and being ill. There were also a few experience actors and they are pretty good. I learned so much from everyone.

Anyway, I am gonna go for a very short holiday on the 16th Apr - 19th Apr. I'm also not gonna work (no matter what) from 16th Apr - 22nd Apr because its my very own special week every year. Unless I get paid 10k per day for that week. LOL

So where am I going to? Somewhere with sun, sea, sand and of course lots of coconut trees for shade and hammock....

Random Restlessness

I'm happy that I'll get to sing for the old folks home sometime in mid of May. Nope, I'm not doing karaoke style but a two piece band. Just me and my guitarist. Gonna sing mainly in Cantonese and Mandrian oldies and I'm doing it for free.

Tonight I'm feeling very restless. I guess I am mainly upset about the fact that I couldn't get my bedroom light fix. Its been 4 months since I've been relying on my table lamp. ARRGH Two of my toe nails broke a few days ago. OUCH!
And I wonder who called me at 4am just now. No caller ID.

Someone actually put up a camping/sleeping tent below my apartment block. I wonder who's sleeping inside. Must be the hot weather.

Mom has been coughing very badly every night. I hope she gets well soon.
Can't wait to bring grandma out for dinner next week.

Drained but happy

I attended Harry's ROM ceremony early this afternoon and gonna go celebrate with the newly weds later at Simon's pub which also happens to be the first day in business. Went to see doc with mom just now. Both of us are not feeling well. I'm still coughing and mom had fever. Today I received words from my actor friend who I met in china. Glad to have him added on MSN. Puppy is doing well at Mdm Tan's so far. Glad he found a job.

I'm gonna slow down a bit for the next few days. Gotta really nurse my health back. Latest thing is I had eye infection. Cosmetics allegry. LOL

I just wanna eat, sleep and play all I can for the next two days before I get emotionally drained with work again. On the whole, even with cough, eye infection, emotionally drained at work and school and being tired, I am still very happy.

Home coming

My journey to the east will soon come to an end in 2 days time. I can't imagine what will it be like without help and guidance from my new friend who is a veteran actor from Shanghai. I address him DaGe (Big Brother). Also I made friend with a 20 year old beautiful (intern) actress who is currently understudying TV hosting. I hope she'll do well in the next few years.

Even though I got a small supporting role with only 3 episodes, I'd gained more than insights on filming in China. This wonderful experience will stay with me forever.
Its something I can talk about to my grandchildren many years later. Yeah, I want to be that grandmother who shares her life journey as bed time stories to her grandchildren. LOL

Now I'm all dressed up in the hotel room, waiting for the PAs to send me to the location. I'm happier to wait in my room than on location. LOL I'm feeling sleepy now. I guess its the time of the day, its almost 5pm now. Last I heard, extra scene were added today so we are expected to be super over running today. Also, tomorrow will be the last day of shoot for the whole production.

I hope I can make it back to the hotel by 9pm tonight so that I can go for a nice hair wash at the in house salon. Really good and cheap at 38yuan that includes full head massage, ear cleaning, mini neck and body massage. We can never get such services back home.

I think I really need to take a nap...........

Just realized that my phone the charger part is broken because of my bus accident.....
ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGH!

Nevermind... The best thing I can do now is to laugh about and forget about it.

Flying Diva

I didn't know my little 2hour exploration in the Xiamen (Amoy), city of China can be this interesting. The first mall I went to is Walmart! The second shop I visited was Watson in another mall. LOL China is really modern. A new phone that comes with sim card cost only RMB270. Got myself a hot water bag for only RMB17. Shoes in the mall are only RMB69. I should have brought less clothes to save space!! ARRGGH

The most interesting part is , I thought they had MRT (train/subway). So I went to the supposed "train station" that looked almost the same back home. Then when I got onto the platform I was shocked. There were no tracks but roads. Then after a really short while, the BUS came. My goodness they specially built these long line of roads for these what they call express buses. It did look very much like those electric train tracks from below.

I wanna get back to my room before the sun comes down so I took the Express bus back again. Anyway its only one stop away and it takes less than 2 minutes. When I arrived at the stop, the driver didn't open the door. Then suddenly he speed up and break! I flew 2 meters inside the bus!! The wonderful people in the bus quickly help me up, I thank them quickly and got off.

Now my body is aching from the bad fall and now also I know why I got the hot water bag from Walmart in the first place.

Moved to the city

After living at the resort for 3 nights, today I moved to the city area. I'm thankful that the production put me up in a 5 star hotel. This time I was given a super king size bed. I'm so gonna swim in the heated pool later because today is my rest day.

Last night there must be 200 people (crew and fans) running around outside the resort as we were filming right inside the resort cafe.

I had done most of my big scene, I shed a few tears, screamed at the top of my voice, lots of running and broke up a fight. Now I'm left with only 3 simple scenes to do. So far, I've shot at salt field, city's lower income area and cemetery that is built upon a hill/mountain.

I'm looking forward to my next scene tomorrow but meanwhile, I'm gonna explore the city area.

Amoy (XIAMEN) China

Yep that's where I am now, shooting a TV drama. It's a minor supporting role but I'm very glad to be here. I like my room not just because the room is very nice but for the fact that I have internet access. Glad I brought my laptop along. I'm very sleepy now because I didn't sleep the night before but my coffee and the excitement to be in Xiamen keeps my energy level up.

Arrived here today at around 12noon and was driven to the resort. Before I could even put my luggage in my room, I was hurried to do my make up and to get myself ready for the scene. I didn't even have time for lunch. I didn't even know what role I'm playing. Then finally I got my script and was driven to the seaside which is near to the resort where I'll be calling it "HOME" for the next few days.

Now at 5pm I am being sent back to the resort because my scene is not ready yet and I needed to use the toilet urgently. Finally I can eat my club sandwich which I had ordered much earlier on at 2pm. The AD was nice enough to let me wait in my own room till my scene is ready.

I didn't know what to expect when I got on the plane. But I'm sure having fun now.
I was told on Sat that I maybe booked to work here but I didn't think too much about it and my phone battery went flat the whole day. It was until my manager finally got hold of me at 9pm last night and told me my flight is at 0810am today. You guess it. I was rushing like mad to pack and to buy my last minute supplies and stuffs for this trip, and worst of all it took me 30mins to dig my passport out from the pile of "I don't know what anymore" in my room.

Will be back to do more updates. This is sure an eye opener for me.

Latest update: I may be moving to another hotel tomorrow and may not have internet access... :(

My disappointments

I simply detest people who think of themselves as GOD. Especially when they think the whole world is indebted to them. Wost of all they talk down to you in front of others to make themselves look great while shamelessly claim themselves as your close friend.
