Double Happiness!

I had organized a gathering with my primary school classmates on 19th July and we are gonna have curry at Apolo Banana Leaf! Wanted to do a buffet party at one of the hotels but I guess it would be a little too formal to break the ice because after all its been so many years since we all sat at the same table.

I've found most of the classmates/schoolmates I remember of from same batch. This is so exciting!! Met up with Audrey Tan again a few days ago and she surprised me with Aileen Neoh who joined us later but I had to rush off to a wedding dinner. ARRGH.. Aileen must have thought I was crazy as I gave her bear hugs twice. LOL

By the way, I'm working on the details of my VERY MINI CONCERT in coming late Sept. Venue has been confirmed. But we haven't set the actual date as we are now into our pre-production stage. The exciting part about my mini concert this year is that we had managed to get a really cool musician to join our team. I'm really looking forward to it!!

Classmates Found!

Its amazing! I've found quite a few long lost primary school classmates the last few days. Audrey Tan, Jessica Leong , Teresa Wang, Alieen Neoh and Huang Shu Ling! I hope to reconnect with more.

Audrey Tan as I mentioned in a few post earlier that she now lives in Kentucky USA and now is back here for a few weeks. Jessica Leong now working as a nurse lives in Canada, married with 2 kids, Teresa Wang still lives here and married with two kids, as for the rest I haven't actually spoke to them yet. I found all of them from facebook, so it takes time. Alieen is still in contact with Teresa and Jessica is still in contacts with Shu Ling. I'm really enjoying my "detective" work here, finding those missing pieces of my life and reconnecting with people who were part of my life.

Here's a song to my found classmates, to the rest I'm searching for, not forgetting friends that have been with me till this day and all my new found friendship for the past few years.

Happy Bollywood

I used to watch Tamil movies during weekends on TV when I was much younger. Love it!! Bollywood is the biggest movie industry in the world for Bollywood makes 5000 movies a year leaving Hollywood way behind. I've been watching lots of Bollywood movies (Hindi) lately. Gosh They are so good that I teared! Plot , editing, cinematography and music are superb. They just get better and better.

Here is one that I really like:

Title "Billu Barber ": The actor Irfaan Khan as Billu is a fantastic actor! Script is good!!

This film is basically based on friendship between an ordinary barber who runs his saloon and a superstar.

The story talks of a village barber Billu [Irfaan Khan]. His wife [Lara Dutta] understands him and always stands by him during his tough times, his children forever make fun of him. Billu isn't able to meet his daily demands, not even making up for his children's school fee. But things aren't the same, a film unit visits his village to shoot a movie and with the unit comes superstar Sahir Khan [Shahrukh Khan] Billu's childhood buddy.

Billu's acquaintance during his childhood days with Sahir Khan is known to the entire village. Now the villagers make a U-Turn in their behaviour towards Billu. They treat him graciously. Everyone is ready to favor him in all spheres. But at the same time everyone starts coaxing him to meet the superstar, all for their own benefits. - (From http://www.whereincity.com/movies/bollywood/7820 )

The Evil Aunt (Edited)

I just have to do it even though my nieces already knew San Zi Jing (The Three Character Classic, Trimetric Classic) by heart at the age of 4. Blame the education system here. I just didn't want them to end up like me, neither good in English nor Chinese. Oh well, both of them wanna be High Court Judges when they grow up (Thanks to TVB Drama). So their language power better be not just good but perfect.

This June school holiday, my mom made me coach them time table (Maths), spelling and Chinese. By the way, the elder one is very talented in drawings. She has been getting Aces since Feb. She did well for this semester. Maybe not good enough for all parents and all evil aunts but I thought its good effort since she came in 13th in class. I am proud of her. I told her since the beginning of the school term that I'll be glad as long as she did her best in school and I believe she did.

The younger one is still in her kindergarden so I'm pretty relax on her so that she can have some childhood before she starts her crazy competition in primary school.

For me its a good practice for parenting in future. Prince told me not to push them too hard if not they might end up hating school someday. I am more worried about them having low EQs than anything. Anyway, I got the elder one read a book on history and species of cats since she loves cat. Of course there are many words she didn't understand but I had showed her how to go online to find the right pronunciation of those words and now she even has her very own gmail account. She sent her very first email to me just to say "I LOVE YOU!". Awwwwww..... I melted.

But I'm sorry. I still gotta be that evil aunt for her own good. Right now at this moment she's learning Zhong Yong - Jun Zi Zhi Dao (The Doctrine of the Mean). All I know is its gonna be good for her.......

---------------------------------------------

I decided its best to let my elder niece learn to write San Zi Jin (The Three Character Classic, Trimetric Classic) instead, since she already knew how to recite by heart. Today she learned 12 new chinese characters. Surprisingly the younger one was very interested to learn. Now both of them can write the first 12 characters of San Zi Jing!! Tomorrow I'll teach them the meaning behind those words before we move on to the next 12 characters. I'm enjoying this because I'm learning too!

Life

There will be a time one would come to a point that you are oh so certain that even prayer won't help. That's when you know you've had totally lost faith in what you had used to believe or had been trying to stay in believing.

That's just sad.
