Memory Lane

The mini divas (my 2 lovely nieces) went on a movie set for the first time 2 weeks ago. I took them around and showed them every department and the crews were kind to take time to explain their jobs to the mini divas age 4 and 6. Thankfully both of them were well behaved and kept themselves silent when the camera started rolling. For that I rewarded them to share a can of soda.

The set happened to be at my old home, a place were the girls had some fun memories. I am naturally happy that our old home was captured in film because that was where I grew up.
We played at the old playground for a very short while. It used to be my playground too. Then we left after an hour or so as I felt the rain. My mom will deep fry me in her wok if the girl got wet in rain. LOL

I caused a funny NG take on set last week at Pasir Ris, it was an emotional scene and suddenly I had the urge to sneeze. I tried my best to hold but I just blew it. I can't help it. LOL Everyone laughed.

By the way there's a new documentary "Meet the natives" on NGC. I totally love it. The wisdom from the natives is truly wise beyond us. We live in abandance in this material world, we have ipods, handphones, cars and fancy malls. Back in the native's village, they live in simple hut, hunt for food with simple tools and travel on bare feet. Yet our wisdom did not advance as much as our advanced life. Anyway, bravo to who ever came out with this program.

I AM SUPER PROUD TO ANNOUNCE.........

This is a open letter for my older niece who just brought home her report book from school.
I hope she'll get to read/ discover this blog 5-30 years from now.
-----------------------------------

Dear BaoBei,

Time really flies.... I remembered you as the very tiny cute creature the day you were born. You were so tiny and cute that I was very afraid that I would hurt you if I'm not careful when your mom let me carry you for the very first time. I teared for joy. You were my pride.

For that I've always treated you as my own child because I felt my own blood flowing in you. Yes baby, we share the same blood. Your papa is my brother , your grand ma is my mother, so we all share the same blood. How could I not love you? I would even die for you.

Soon later , you started to learn to speak and walk. I was very happy that I was the second word you learn to speak. You called me TUTU. Mispronounced, should be GUGU but very very sweet.....

Then you started pre-school. You showed me many pieces of your art. You even drew me and slide drawings under my door a few times a week. You may not know this but each time when I see your drawings, all my troubles went away.

This day, as a primary one student, you came in 9th in your class of 30students. Needless to say I'm very very very proud of you. Not just because you are top 10 in class but the fact that you did as you had promised me earlier this year that you will do your best and which you did.

If you ever gonna ask me about my expectations of you. I would say, I hope to see you grow into a happy, strong woman who will do her best in life. Always believe in yourself and never believe in anyone who tell you that you can't make it, not even me.

If in any case you felt you had disappointed me, you shouldn't be worry. As long as you pick yourself up and start trying again, that's all I ever ask.

I love your younger sister very much too. I'm not gonna be very much alive 30-50 years from now. So she's all you've got when you grow old who shares your blood. Love her as much as we love you. Xin Gan, if you are reading this too, please love jie jie as much as we love you too.

I hope baobei you'll continue to work hard. Doesn't matter if you are not the best in school or at work when you grow up, as long as you truly give your very best. To me both you and your sister are already the best.

I got the honor from your father and your grandma to name you and your sister. In case you didn't know, your name means, one who gets what she work for. As your younger sister's name means, one who is content and the good hearted believes in hard work. So when put the two of you together, its perfect !!

By the way, please go shower when you are told. Be a good girl for my mother, your very old grandma who had given up her mahjong sessions for you.

Opps I gotta run now. Better stop my emo-ing here. LOVE YOU BOTH!!!!!!

Love,
GUGU

Bananas Diet Talk

I'm now on a experimental one week fruit detox (tested by a friend and supported by some "unknown" well known doctors but its experimental for me at least).

DISCLAIMER: Please do not and never try out this Fruit detox program written/mentioned in this entry/Blog. Please consult your family doctor for a "tailored made" detox program should you wish to detox.)

Today's menu is BANANA for lunch from NTUC FAIRPRICE and PAPAYA for dinner from THE WET MARKET! No I'm not killing myself. Just needed to clear all rubbish out of my stomach. Anyway by day 3 I get to eat fish. Hummm... I think so... LOL

Back on shoot tomorrow, rehearsal the day after for my performance on 20th Nov. Then after that rehearsals for my new singing gig that's happening on 2nd Dec, follow by spring cleaning, another few shoot, lazing around, FB-ing, then endless X mas & new year parties and gatherings.

I hope I can do something special for my dearest friends this year. Really need to thank them for sticking with me through thick and thin over the years.

For my family, coming Chinese New year, I may bring mom and papa to pull the handle of their favorite jackpot machines. The mini Divas will get nice school bags and as for my bro and sis- in law, I expect 2 angbaos from them... HEE HEE

Gosh .... How can I forget the coming Club 21 sale?? (Please let there be one..)

I gotta get back to my half eaten bananas. NOW....

Random Thoughts: No country for old cat.

Flowers bloom under good care of the gardener. The basis of gardening is sunlight, water, soil and love. My mom once told me that our old neighbour's flower plant blossom because he tied red ribbons around the branches. He also told us that plants have feelings. If one truly take care of it sincerely with love, it'll grow and do well. If not, even given the best soil and sunlight, the plant will not live long. It'll turn yellow, dry up and eventually die off.
I guess thats why my tree and plant died on me. I didn't love and took care of them enough. Maybe they felt that I lack of sincerity.

I love being around trees. Someone told me I never get to walk in a park because I never woke up early enough. LOL Odd enough, even when I woke up early I would never get to walk in the park. For 5 years, I've been dreaming of visiting the orchid garden at botanic garden, a visit to CCK farm mart and go cycling at Ubin. Strangely I never got to anywhere. Yes I know, all because I only dream and wait. So to make up for this, I'm gonna do it. Not just gonna sit and wait and just dream. First of all I am gonna enjoy my walk at the green belt near my house.
